This World Vegan Month, Why Not Try a Vegan Diet?
World Vegan Month takes place in November of each year. It is celebrated to raise awareness not only of the nutritional but also the ethical aspects of a vegan diet.
This World Vegan Month, why not try a vegan diet? Before doing so, here are some bits of basic vegan knowledge you should know. Try to absorb the concept slowly—one vegan dish at a time. You may adopt it in your life or stop if you think you can’t make it.
What is a Vegan?
Vegans are individuals who choose not to eat dairy, eggs, or any other products that came from animals in addition to not eating meat just like what vegetarians do.
Reasons to Go Vegan
People decide to become vegans because of ethical, health, and environmental reasons.
Vegans strongly believe that all animals have the right to freedom and life. Hence, vegans are against putting an end to a conscious being’s life just to eat its flesh, drink its milk or wear its skin, especially considering that there are a lot of available alternatives.
Some people decide to be vegans because they benefit from it health-wise. A vegan diet can help keep your heart healthy. Moreover, studies have shown that a vegan diet can reduce blood sugar and cholesterol in the body. It can reduce the risks of having a heart attack, cancer, arthritis, kidney diseases, and Alzheimer’s disease.
Vegans also choose to avoid meat and any other animal products because they see how animal agriculture impacts the environment negatively. They cite deforestation and habitat destruction among the environmental woes caused by animal agriculture.

Help Others Live a Good Life
At the core of their being, vegans simply want to live the best life possible without harming any animal life. Even if you may not agree with the way they practice their beliefs, the concept of helping others live a good life is something we can all agree on.
To this end, you can meaningfully observe World Vegan Month by reaching out to the needy individuals in your community, particularly those who are burdened with disabilities, illiteracy, welfare dependency, and other personal disadvantages that prevent them from getting a good job and living a good life. You can easily do that by donating an old car, pickup truck, van or any other type of vehicle to us at Goodwill Car Donations.
We will sell your vehicle through auction and use the proceeds to support the programs of the Goodwill nonprofit organizations serving your community. These programs provide deserving disadvantaged residents in your community with skills training, education, job placement services, disability benefits support, and many other services that support your community’s growth and development. In particular, our job training programs will enable unemployed disadvantaged individuals to secure decent and stable jobs that can help improve their living conditions and those of their families as well.
